Howling Marshes is the swampy late-game region where Logan-family story beats and rare wood farming overlap. Unlocking the region

• Progress the Logan (werewolf) storyline through town hall registration and bridge repairs.
• Ludo and Ridge quests often gate marsh access — check your journal after crest-collection milestones.
• Shapeshifting into wolf or bat forms from the shapeshifting page speeds travel once unlocked.

Weeping Willow → Dark Wood loop

1. Enter Howling Marshes at night with axe or foraging tools ready.
2. Harvest Weeping Willow nodes when they appear along marsh paths.
3. Process branches at your farm workstation or town crafter into Dark Wood stacks.
4. Spend Dark Wood on house tiers, high-tier gifts, or museum bundles.

Before patch 1.1.45, players reported long gaps between willow respawns. The July 21 hotfix explicitly increased spawn chance — update before dedicating multiple nights to a Dark Wood stockpile.

Combat and stamina tips

• Marsh enemies hit harder than early farm critters — cook stamina meals from the cooking guide.
• Carry potions from the potions page if you chain harvests past midnight.
• Return to coffin before sunrise — the nocturnal rule still applies deep in the marsh.
